Run a nuclear power plant
from your browser.

Real reactor physics — a whole plant, from cold shutdown to full power. Guided training when you’re ready. Nothing to install — it all runs locally in your browser.

The live plant is the SLX-100, a compact single-loop PWR (~100 MWe) — cold shutdown to full power, with procedures and failures on the same model. Start with About for what this is and how to approach it.

What’s here

Plant operation

Run the board: rods, boron, pressurizer, feed, steam, turbine, and alarms. Learn the order of a startup and how to hold the plant online — the what operators do. Free play and commercial-format manuals are in the control room.

Plant dynamics

Core, primary, steam generator, and turbine are one coupled model. A load change or a trip has consequences you can reason about — the why behind the board. Model form and limits are on the Physics page.

Casualties and recovery

Trips, stuck valves, pump trips, sensor failures, tube leaks, loss of heat sink — inject them yourself or take them when they come. Same plant for every session; easier runs are gentler scenarios, not a simpler model.

Guided training

An instructor watches the board and gates progress through procedures — startup, power maneuvers, casualty response — with the manuals open in the room.
