TEST BUILD — an unstable work in progress, not the released simulator. Things here are half-finished on purpose. The stable version is at reactordynamics.com.

The Reactor Dynamics PWR control-room interface

The live plant is the SLS-100, a compact single-loop PWR (~100 MWe) — cold shutdown to full power, with procedures and failures on the same model. Start with About for what this is and how to approach it.

What’s here

Plant operation

Run the board: rods, boron, pressurizer, feed, steam, turbine, and alarms. Learn the order of a startup and how to hold the plant online — the what operators do. Free play: every start condition, every control live.

Plant dynamics

Core, primary, steam generator, and turbine are one coupled model. A load change or a trip has consequences you can reason about — the why behind the board. Model form and limits are on the Physics page.

Casualties and recovery

Trips, stuck valves, pump trips, sensor failures, tube leaks, loss of heat sink — inject them yourself and work the recovery. Same plant every session; an easier run is a gentler situation, not a simpler model.

Operator’s manual

A commercial-format manual set for this plant, open in the control room: controls and indications, normal and emergency procedures, alarm response, setpoints and limits, and a glossary.
