disagrees with the plant. Tick a box to copy that row into the
Monitoring list at the top; a coloured dot means the channel is
trending on the strip chart, which is chosen in the chart's own settings.

⚠ Simulation halted
The simulator has stopped calculating and is holding the last
state it could compute. The clock is still running, but nothing on the
board is moving and controls will not take effect.
This is not a crash, and it is not something you did wrong. The plant reached a
condition the physics model has no way to compute — in practice the far end of a
deep loss of coolant, where the water property tables run out below about
15 pounds per square inch absolute. Rather than invent numbers for it, the
model stops and says so.
Everything you can see is the last valid reading. To carry on,
reset the plant to its initial condition — the current run cannot be continued.

How this control room works
Learn on a real plant model
The left side is the plant — operate rods, pumps, valves, feed, and the turbine
there. The right column is the simulator: time, the session bar, the reference
tabs and the Instructor. The System Scanner is the line under the board. Same
high-fidelity physics whether you are learning the basics or practicing failures.
Where to start
Play starts the clock — the ▶ button flashes whenever the plant is stopped. F11 goes fullscreen, which suits the board. Instructor (right column) — free-play coaching and, later, guided voices. Use − to minimize it. Walkthroughs (first tab) — interactive procedures that check themselves off the instruments. Manual — full operator reference and written procedures. Main Menu (in the tools row, beside Settings) — starting condition, courses and reset. System Scanner (the line under the board) — hover anything for what it is and how to use it.
Colors on this Physics Diagram
Green — running / normal.
Yellow / amber — abnormal or alarm caution.
Red — problem or automatic protection (trip).
Cyan — you can type or click here.
Grey numbers — OK but not ideal, no alarm yet.
Watch what moves together
This plant is about the couplings: drop the generator load and power
follows it down while Tavg rises; pressurizer level tracks Tavg, not inventory;
the steam generator is the primary's only heat sink. Change one thing and watch
what answers — that is the whole exercise.
Instruments lag, and can fail
You operate through instruments, and protection reads those same instruments —
with lag, noise, and, in failure scenarios, a channel that has stopped reporting
honestly. That is how real plants are run. Cross-check a doubtful reading against
the couplings above; they keep holding when one gauge stops.
Rewind & speed
Rewind (by the strip chart) restores an earlier plant state so you can try
again. Speed has two tiers: 1×–60× run the full physics; 600× and 3600×
are WARP — the same physics at a coarser step, for xenon, decay heat and long
heatups. WARP drops to 60× by itself when the plant moves fast, and the readout
beside the buttons shows the rate actually achieved (amber or red when the physics
cannot keep up). Optional fast-forward dropout still drops you to 1× when
something needs attention.
